The USGA has announced that Sand Creek Station will be the host site of their 3rd U.S. Adaptive Open Championship, set to be held July 8-10, 2024. Athletes Without Limits manages eligibility/Paralympic Classification for players with Intellectual Impairment so they can apply for the required WR4GD player pass; the deadline to apply to AWL for International Eligibility will likely be in April 2024 (in order to confirm International level Virtus II1 eligibility in time for the event registration deadline which has not yet been announced).
The 2024 US Paralympic Track & Field Team Trials will be held July 18-21, 2024 for selection to the 2024 Paralympic Games in France. Athletes with intellectual impairment must be meeting Emerging Team Time Standards to qualify and have Full Virtus International Eligibility as well as other events pre-qualifications. Due to cancellations during COVID-19 the 2026 Virtus Americas Regional Championships will be the inaugural event. Regional events will be held in the year preceding the Virtus Global Games, which are held every four years. AWL will manage selection and travel for a US Team to both Regional Games in Peru in 2026 and the 2027 Global Games! Included sports will be announced closer to the event.
