Event Eligibility for Athletes with Intellectual Impairments:
According to the event website “participants must be Special Olympics athletes or athletes qualifying in accordance with USAGA Sport Class G15, intellectual disability.”
This means all Virtus II1 and Virtus II2 players are eligible for this event.
Virtus II3 players with higher functioning Autism who compete in Special Olympics should check with event organizers since the guidelines note that “Special Olympic athletes are eligible.”
This is a private foundation so it’s not clear if EDGA Access Passes are needed (which athletes can apply for directly on the EDGA site directly) or if they require a full EDGA WR4GD World Player pass (which requires Virtus international eligibility confirmation through Athletes Without Limits).
We encourage all players with intellectual impairments to reach out to the event organizers directly for exact requirements from year to year as this event grows!
