2025 Virtus World Swimming Championships (Thailand) MQS Posted!

August 20 - August 30

Virtus has announced that Bangkok, Thailand will host the 2025 Virtus World Swimming Championships for the top swimmers with Intellectual Disability, Down syndrome and Autism from around the globe!

Athletes Without Limits USA National Swim Team

Athletes Without Limits will be recruiting a National Swim Team of the top 30 swimmers to represent the United States at this highly competitive Virtus International event.
(Consisting of 5 men & 5 women from each of the three Virtus Competition Groups II1-II2 and II3.)

    Further details about National Team Selection, Costs and Timelines will be announced in our USA Team Guide for this event. We will also host Zoom sessions for interested swimmers who have met (or are likley to meet) a qualifying time standards below.
  • USA Athlete Interest Form: (coming soon)
    Interested Swimmers who can meet (or are likely to meet) at least one MQS qualifying time should complete our USA Athlete Interest Form to be added to our Event email and Zoom invite list for this event.

Virtus Event Guide:

Download the Virtus Event Guide posted by the Virtus Organizers in late November 2024 — we’ve added some explanatory notes for US Swimmers to this version of the Virtus Guide. We will post a separate USA Team Guide with more details.

Eligibility:
This event is open to swimmers with Virtus II1, II2, and II3 International Level eligibility. New U.S. swimmers interested in this event should apply to Athletes Without Limits for Virtus II1, II2 or II3 International eligibility as soon as possible by completing our eligibility application.

MQS Time Standards:
2025 Qualifying standards shown in the tables below (and in the Virtus Event Guide) have been announced by Virtus as of November 26, 2024.

  • To qualify for the event swimmers must have at least one MQS (see left table in image below).
  • Other individual events can then be entered where a Minimum Entry Time (MET) has been met (see right table in image below).
  • Times must have been earned at an officially timed event since June 1, 2023.
  • Short course times can be converted to Long Course Meters using the SwimSwam Online Conversion Tool.
