Runner Michael Murray Heads to Global Games with Help from Community Sponsors
Private sponsorships from friends and local businesses keep Michaels Paralympic Dream alive as the he heads to the 2011 INAS/IPC Global Games in Imperia, Italy.
Friends and family members of Michael Murray, the highest ranked track athlete with intellectual disability in the US, spearheaded a local fundraising campaign to help offset Michael's out-of-pocket expenses for the 2011 Global Games in Italy. The Global Games is an important qualifier for the London 2012 Paralympics and Michael represents the best chance for a US runner to qualify in the T20 class.

Florida swimmer Sarah Gilbert is fundraising to help offset trip costs for the 2011 Global Games in Italy. She appeared on First Coast News on August 8 along with one of her swim coaches Justin Heights and her rowing coach Victoria Mattie. The GTAC Disability Swim meet provided an opportunity for three new Athletes Without Limits swimmers to compete together with physically disabled Paralympic swimmers.
Swimmers Leslie Cichocki and Sarah Gilbert and Todd Eisinger traveled to Cincinnati to compete in the 8th Annual Greater Toledo Aquatic Club (GTAC) Disability Open Swimming Championships, sanctioned by both USA Swimming and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The athletes are trying to achieve qualifying times for the 2011 Global Games World Championships....
Melissa Middleton Named to USA Para Pan Am Team
Athletes Without Limits Melissa Middleton of Cumming, Georgia has been selected to join the US Paralympic / USA Table Tennis (USATT) Para Pan Am Team at the 2011 Parapan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, November 13-18th, 2011. She is the first US athlete to compete in Table Tennis Class 11 (intellectual disability) in over a decade following the Paralympic re-inclusion vote in 2009.

Syd Lea Wins CrashB Indoor Rowing Event
Athletes Without Limits Syd Lea competed as part of the Capital Adaptive Rowing squad at the 2nd annual Adaptive Challenge at the C.R.A.S.H.-B Sprints in Boston February 21, 2011.
The club team, which is comprised of athletes with physical or intellectual disability, brought home two hammer trophies:Â Syd Lea won 1st place in the Men's open intellectually disabled class and Claudia Perry won 1st place in the Women's LTA-V.

Congratulations to Michael Murray — the first American athlete with an intellectual disability to make the US Paralympic Team in over a decade — for his PR of 4:18 in the men's 1500m World Championship last month on Christchurch.
