May 2026: EDGA Golf: G4D International Open (Wales) Open to II1, II2 & II3 Players!

Eligibility Groups: Open to Virtus II1, II2 and II3 Autism+!
(This is different from U.S. Adaptive Open with is only open to II1/II2 players.)
The G4D Open is an International Adaptive Golf event that is supported and approved by EDGA, the organization that manages World Ranking WR4GD passes for players with Physical, Visual and Intellectual impairments. The event is staged in partnership with The R&A and sees 80 Adaptive players compete. EDGA, formerly the European Disabled Golf Association, has been involved in the development of the Championship and will continue to support in an advisory role. Based in Europe, EDGA is a not-for-profit, volunteer led organisation, active in the promotion and delivery of opportunities to sample, participate and compete in golf. Now in it’s 3nd year the G4D Open is different from most US Adaptive Golf events in that it offers more than one competition group for athletes with intellectual impairments so includes athletes in all three Virtus groups
(Including Virtus II3 Athletes with higher functioning Autsim who are not eligible for the U.S. Adaptive Open):
- G4D “Intellectual-1” or IN1 is for players with Virtus II-1 Intellectual Disability or Virtus II-2 Down Syndrome with Intellectual Disability.
This group also includes athletes with Autism if they also have Intellectual Disability - G4d “Intellectual-2” or IN2 is for players in the Virtus II-3 group for Autism+ who don’t meet the IQ and Adaptive criteria for Intellectual Disability (sometimes refereed to as ‘higher functioning’ Autism).

To be able to apply to EDGA for a WR4GD World Ranking Player Pass, new US Players (with Intellectual Disability, Down Syndrome or Autism) should apply through USA Virtus member Athletes Without Limits from our eligibility application page.
