2012 London Paralympic Games

The London 2012 Games are the first to follow the 2009/2010 vote to re-include athletes with intellectual disability into the Paralympic Program. There are opportunities in Athletics, Swimming & Table Tennis. To be selected for the US team, athletes must be competitive with the best athletes in the world in their respective events.

Summary: Athletes Without Limits runner Michael Murray made history by being the first US athlete to be selected for the US Paralympic Team following strong performances at the 2010 US Paralympic Track & Field Nationals and the 2011 IPC World Championships in New Zealand. He went on to represent Team USA and compete in the 1500m event at the London 2012 Paralympics. In addition, three Athletes Without Limits swimmers qualified to compete at the US Paralympic Team Trials.
