About:
Virtus events are the World Championships for high-performance elite Athletes with Intellectual Disability, Down Syndrome and Autism. More details will be posted as they are released by Virtus and the host country. Athletes Without Limits will organize a National Team trip for US athletes who qualify for the event based on athlete interest and trip viability. Interested athletes should complete our Interest Form below and apply for Virtus International eligibility if they haven’t already.
Virtus Eligibility Groups:
This event is open to athletes competing in three Virtus groups:
- Virtus II1: Intellectual Disability (IQ 75 or lower)
- Virtus II2: Down Syndrome (or similar additional impairment)
- Virtus II3: Autism (does not also meet criteria for Intellectual Disability)
Full International Virtus eligibility is required which can take 2-3 months to confirm with Virtus.
