This group also includes athletes with Autism if they also meet the ID criteria below):\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFull Scale IQ of 75 or lower on accepted IQ assessment WAIS\, WISC\, or Stanford Binet\, and\nAdaptive Behavior significant limitations (70 or lower in at least one domain area) on Vineland\, ABAS or AAMR scales\, and\nEvidence there was diagnosis of Intellectual Disability before age 22\n\nABOUT THE Virtus II3 GROUP FOR AUTISM:\nAthletes with a formal diagnosis of Autism who don’t meet the IQ and Adaptive criteria above compete at Athletes Without Limits and Virtus events in our unique II3 Autism group. SUMMARY:May 2026: EDGA Golf: G4D International Open (Wales) Open to II1\, II2 & II3 Players
DESCRIPTION: 2026 Dates: May 14-16\n2026 Location: Celtic Manor Resort Wales\nEligibility Groups: Open to Virtus II1\, II2 and II3 Autism+ (with Virtus International Eligibility & WR4GD Pass) \n(This is different from U.S. Adaptive Open which is only open to II1/II2 players.) \nThe G4D Open is an International Adaptive Golf event that is supported and approved by EDGA\, the organization that manages World Ranking WR4GD passes for players with Physical\, Visual and Intellectual impairments. The event is staged in partnership with The R&A and sees 80 Adaptive players compete. EDGA\, formerly the European Disabled Golf Association\, has been involved in the development of the Championship and will continue to support in an advisory role. Based in Europe\, EDGA is a not-for-profit\, volunteer led organisation\, active in the promotion and delivery of opportunities to sample\, participate and compete in golf. DESCRIPTION:The Boston Athletic Association (BAA) provides pathways for inclusion of runners with intellectual impairments in The Boston Marathon and other annual events. \n\nFOUR ANNUAL EVENTS OFFERED: \n \n\nBoston 5K (April 18\, 2026)\n\nBoston Marathon (April 20\, 2026)\n\nBoston 10k (Tentatively June 21\, 2026)\n\nBoston Half Marathon (TBA November 2026)\n\nTWO COMPETITION PATHWAYS FOR ATHLETES WITH INTELLECTUAL IMPAIRMENTS: \n\nT20 Paralympic Division (Virtus II1 or II2 National Eligibility)\nGeneral Adaptive Runner Program (Virtus II1\, II2 or II3 National Eligibility)\n\nWHO’S ELIGIBLE:  \n\nAthletes with National Virtus II1 or II2 eligibility can compete for prize money in the competitive Para T20 Class (without a guide runner and higher qualifying times) at this event\, or may choose to stay in Adaptive Runner Program (with a guide runner and lower qualifying times).\nAthletes with National Virtus II3-Higher Functioning Autism (who are not eligible for Para T20) can compete in the Adaptive Runner Program.\n\nABOUT THE T20 PARALYMPIC DIVISION: \nIn 2023 The Boston Athletic Association (BAA) made an important announcement when they added a competitive division for intellectual impairment which is open to Virtus II1/II2/T20 runners with National or International classification. \n\n\n\n\nTo be eligible for the Para T20 Class for Intellectual Impairment athletes must provide documentation showing they meet our Virtus II1/Paralympic criteria for Intellectual Disability below (this includes athletes with Down Syndrome in our Virtus II2 group since they also meet the ID criteria. This group also includes athletes with Autism if they also meet the ID criteria below):\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFull Scale IQ of 75 or lower on accepted IQ assessment WAIS\, WISC\, or Stanford Binet\, and\nAdaptive Behavior significant limitations (70 or lower in at least one domain area) on Vineland\, ABAS or AAMR scales\, and\nEvidence there was diagnosis of Intellectual Disability before age 22\n\nABOUT THE Virtus II3 GROUP FOR AUTISM:\nAthletes with a formal diagnosis of Autism who don’t meet the IQ and Adaptive criteria above compete at Athletes Without Limits and Virtus events in our unique II3 Autism group.
