University of Michigan Adaptive Sports has collaborated with Athletes Without Limits to ensure athletes with intellectual disability\, down syndrome and autism (in all three Virtus groups ii1\, ii2\, ii3) have the opportunity to compete as part of this event! In addition to established national athletes\, newer athletes ages 14+ are invited to attend as the meet will also serve as talent identification event. We hope to see athletes from around the country come to Ann Arbor and the beautiful University of Michigan campus and athletic facilities for this important competition! \n\nLOCATION\nU-M Track & Field Stadium\, Ann Arbor\, MI\n\n2025 EVENTS (2026 events not yet confirmed)\n\n100M\, Open 100M\, 200M\, 400M\, 800M\, 1500M\, 3000M (depending on interest)\, 5000M (depending on interest)\, and Universal Relay (4*100M)\nLong jump\, high jump\, javelin\, shotput\, discus\, club\n\n\nSANCTIONING\n\nThe Miller Family Open is World Para Athletics and Move United sanctioned – Qualify for Move United and USA Track & Field Nationals (for athletes who are eligible for Paralympic Track & Field classes for physical\, visual impairment or intellectual disability (IQ 75 or lower).\nThe event also follows Athletes Without Limits & Virtus International sanctioning for athletes with Intellectual Impairment\, Down Syndrome and Autism\, with opportunities to qualify for Athletes Without Limits trips to high level Virtus World Championships & Global Games.\n\n\nGENERAL ELIGIBILITY\n\nMust be 14+ years of age to compete\n\nAthletes with or without disabilities are invited to compete:  Para Athletics\, Special Olympics\, Athletes Without Limits & Virtus\, Club\, Varsity\, Veterans\, Military\, ROTC\, etc\nThis is an open competition to all athletes – heats and events will be organized by function and seed times.\n\n\n\nELIGIBILITY NOTE FOR ATHLETES WITH INTELLECTUAL IMPAIRMENTS:\n\n\nThis uniquely inclusive event is also open to athletes in all three Virtus competition groups which means in addition to athletes with an IQ of 75 or lower who qualify for Virtus II1 and the Paralympic T20 Class\, athletes with Down Syndrome get their own separate competition group (Virtus II2)\, and athletes with Autism who have an IQ above 75 can also compete (Virtus II3).\n\n\nAthletes with Intellectual Impairment are encouraged to have applied to  Athletes Without Limits for Virtus/Paralympic eligibility to confirm eligibility for additional opportunities but it is not required to compete in this all-comers meet. (At the meet Athletes will be placed in one of three Virtus groups noted above.)\n\n\nTimes earned can be used to qualify for upcoming Athletes Without Limits US National Team trips to Virtus World Championships and Global Games.\n\n\n\n\nREGISISTRATION\n\n Athletes can enter this meet by clicking the large yellow registration button at the top of the event web page (not posted yet for 2026) \n(2026 reg dates tbd) Registration for AWL athletes is free up until the early reg deadline\, after that is is $30 through the final reg deadline.  \nNote about registration form and free/reduced entry code: As you answer questions and confirm your affiliation with Athletes Without Limits and go through several pages of the form\, you will eventually reach a page called  ORDER SUMMARY.
