Eligibility Committee
Purpose
The Athletes Without Limits Eligibility Committee 1) reviews INAS-FID Eligibility Applications submitted by US athletes to ensure all necessary supporting documentation has been provided 2) conducts interviews with parents/guardians to complete sections IV and V of the application 3) determines if the athlete meets the eligibility requirements of INAS-FID, and if so sends the application to the INAS-FID International Eligibility Committee for final review and approval.
Committee Members
Dr. Robert Lea Ed D, Eligibility Committee Chair & Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Lea, a former instructor in Psychology and Social Relations at Harvard, obtained his doctorate from Harvard Graduate School of Education. He is licensed in Maryland and has been in private practice from 1979 until present working with individuals, couples, children and adolescents, including those with intellectual disabilities. Dr. Lea is a former Pan Am Champion and Olympic rower, holds national titles in cycling, and has extensive experience organizing sporting events. He is the father two elite athletes, one with intellectual disability currently ranked 2nd in the world in road cycling, the other a professional and Olympic cyclist.
Richard Sammons, Eligibility Committee Licensed Psychologist

Barry Holman, Eligibility Committee Coaching Specialist
Mr. Holman was Head Coach of the US Team at the 2009 Global Games and is a US representative at INAS-FID General Assembly meetings. He coaches one of the most successful athletes with intellectual disability in the US and has extensive experience coaching non-disabled athletes as well. He has been certified by USA Cycling and USA Triathlon.
Julie Holman, Eligibility Committee Administrator
Ms. Holman was the US Head of Delegation at the 2009 Global Games and is a US representative at INAS-FID General Assembly meetings. She has extensive experience in communications and administration of nonprofits and works with the US Eligibility Committee members, INAS-FID staff and athlete’s parents/guardians to oversee the application submission process for US athletes.
