Douglas Baldridge, Chair of Venable’s Washington Litigation Group, serves on the Athletes Without Limits Board of Directors.
He joined the board after hearing from his daughter about her transformative experience volunteering and rowing with our integrated crew of athletes with intellectual, physical and visual impairment rowing side-by-side with non-disabled teammates.
Under his leadership, the Foundation has helped us fulfill our mission of providing athletes the resources they need to reach their highest level in sport. Thanks to their generous support we were able to purchase “The Venable,” an adaptive racing shell that allows athletes and vets with disabilities to race and train with our integrated rowing program. In 2013, Venable featured Athletes Without Limits in their inspiring holiday card.
Established in 1983, The Venable Foundation works to promote the health and well-being of the communities where Venable’s clients and attorneys work and live. In 2014, the Foundation gave more than $2 million in contributions to a wide variety of organizations, continuing a long tradition of unparalleled giving which complements the pro bono legal work and community service of Venable attorneys and staff. The needs of recipients are brought to the attention of the Foundation by Venable attorneys and staff who are often contributing their time and talent to those causes.
