Who’s Eligible?

Any athlete with intellectual disability who hopes to compete in newly opened classes at Paralympic competition in the US or internationally must first complete the athlete eligibility application with us as the first step towards Paralympic eligibility in any sport. Please contact us for details.

Sports

Athletes Without Limits does not necessarily organize team trips to Paralympic competitions, however we do handle the first stage of eligibility for any athlete who wants to compete in the newly added classes for intellectual disability. The following sports already have opportunities for athletes with intellectual disability including the London 2012 Paralympics (or Rio 2016 Paralympics in the case of Rowing.)

  • SWIMMING (US Paralympic Swimming)

  • TRACK & FIELD (US Paralympic Track & Field)
    For a complete list of IPC & US Paralympic Track & Field Events, which are now open to athletes with intellectual disability (Class S14, SB14, SM14), visit: www.usparalympics.org.   • ROWING (US Rowing)
