Athletes Without Limits Event Updates:

Our thoughts are with all those affected by coronavirus (COVID-19). As part of community efforts to help prevent the spread Athletes Without Limits National and AWL DC Sports have postponed upcoming practices and events including the following. We are working on approaches to home fitness plans until group activities resume.

March 2020:

  • AWL DC Sports March 2020 Winter Fit, Rowing practices and upcoming travel to regattas have been suspended while Anacostia Community Boathouse and other venues are closed to group activities. (We will post spring regatta cancellations/postponements on the AWL DC Sports website.)
  • The 2nd Virtus Cyber Rowing Video Competition has been cancelled. Hosted by AWL this event was previously postponed but has since been cancelled.

April 2020:

  • The April 4-5, 2020 San Diego Crew Classic has been cancelled as is the AWL DC Sports Veteran Leaders /Freedom Rows trip to the event. Read the announcement.
  • AWL’s May Skyliners Time Trial, Duathlon & 5k Run Series in Bend, Oregon has been postponed. We are exploring rescheduling this summer.

June 2020:

  • June AWL Invitational Swim Meet: We were about to announce a June  invitational meet in Atlanta hosted by the Nautical Milers, but will hold off until more information is available.

July 2020:

  • July 2020 Virtus Tennis World Championships in Belgium: AWL will not be organizing a U.S. trip to the event. The Virtus website (see link below) will provide updates on whether or not that event will be postponed.
