Athletes Without Limits Announces Diaa Nour as Newest Board Member

President of Tot Solutions offers business expertise, passion for sport, and global perspective to help athletes with intellectual disability realize their Olympic dreams.

Washington, D.C. – March 7, 2011 – Athletes Without Limits, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping athletes with intellectual disability compete at their highest level, announced the selection of Mr. Diaa Nour, President of Tot Solutions, as its newest board member. Nour, who has been consulting for the organization since mid-2010, brings substantial business expertise and project leadership experience to the Board, and will help develop strategic business planning and support for Athletes Without Limits — the only organization of its kind in the United States.

“We are proud to select Diaa Nour as an Athletes Without Limits Board Member. Diaa’s business understanding, coupled with his passion for sports and for helping those around him will be a powerful addition to our leadership team,” said Barry Holman, who co-founded the nonprofit in 2009. “He’s a dynamic problem solver, and with the London 2012 Paralympics just around the corner, we look forward to working together to see athletes with intellectual disability on the US team for the first time in over a decade.”

Athletes Without Limits newest board member Diaa Nour believes sport is an important way to balance health and career and be active in the community.

Nour has significant experience leading IT projects in both the public and private sectors – particularly in Africa and the Middle East, including Gabon, South Africa, Senegal, Togo, Burkina Faso, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Egypt. Most recently he helped negotiate a grant for the government of Burkina Faso to install fiber links between all the Ministries. Currently, he is the Chief Project Manager for the Sofisat telephony project in Egypt – the largest public/private partnership in the history of the country.

Nour graduated from the College of William and Mary with a dual B.A. in International Economics and International Relations.  Raised in Cairo, Egypt and Lausanne, Switzerland, Nour is fluent in English, French, and Arabic and currently resides in Washington, D.C.
